Helpore vs Homeservice24: after the phone number, who does the rest

Homeservice24 is a contact database: it connects you with people offering household help, and its job is done when you have a name. Helpore connects you too, and then stays: you are the employer, and Helpore prepares the contract, arranges the insurance you choose, makes the payments in your name from your funds and keeps the documents; with a person you already employ, a contract from Helpore is optional. The difference is everything that happens after the first message.

What Homeservice24 is

Homeservice24 has run for well over fifteen years as a job platform where households post an offer and people offering household help apply. They are not employed by Homeservice24 and pay nothing; households become premium members with a one time usage fee to contact applicants. The platform says they earn about CHF 28 gross an hour on average, and points households to a separate tool for registering and insuring the person they hire.

Once you have made contact, the platform's part is over. Registration, insurance and payslips are yours to arrange, through a separate tool.
What it means for you
Compensation office registration, accident insurance, a contract, a payslip every month, source tax if it applies. Each one is a step you can miss.
With Helpore
With Helpore Admin you stay the employer, and Helpore runs the registration and the monthly payroll in your name under your signed power of attorney; Admin Light gives you the documents and the monthly calculation, and Flex includes all of it in each booked hour.

The undeclared work trap

Nothing on the platform stops a household from simply paying cash.

Undeclared household work is illegal in Switzerland and the household carries the fines and the liability. An uninsured accident in your home is your problem.

Helpore's prices, all of them

  • Flex: pay per booked hour, a flat Helpore fee of CHF 3.50 on top of the wage, contract, insurance and payslip included, nothing to subscribe to.
  • Helpore Admin Light: CHF 15.90 a month or CHF 154.80 a year for one regular Helper you administer with Helpore's documents and calculations.
  • Helpore Admin: CHF 23.90 a month or CHF 238.80 a year; you stay the employer, and Helpore runs the registration, payslips, source tax and insurance in your name, and prepares a contract if you want one.
  • A one time placement fee of CHF 29.00 when a Helper you found on Helpore becomes your regular employee, credited against Flex fees you already paid.
  • Helpers set their own rate, never below CHF 24.55 an hour, and never below the statutory minimum where the work is done. The wage is theirs in full.

Common questions

Is it legal to just pay a cleaner cash?
No. Household work must be declared to the compensation office and insured against accidents, whatever the hours. Declaring it is exactly what Helpore does, so the question never comes up.
What does Helpore do that a job board does not?
Everything after the phone number: contract, registration, accident insurance, monthly payslips, source tax where it applies, holiday and notice rules, and a record of it all that both of you can see.
Can I bring someone I found elsewhere?
Yes. Invite them to Helpore and Helpore Admin runs the administration of that employment in your name. No placement fee applies to someone you bring yourself. For a Helper you bring yourself, Helpore checks no identity and no permit: you confirm as the employer that you have seen a valid permit, and Helpore records your confirmation and prepares the paperwork.
