Our official sources

These are the official sources behind Helpore's wage and cost calculations, grouped by who publishes them. Each line names the office, links to the document and shows the day we read it.

Federal offices and institutions

Cantonal offices

Tax offices

Laws and ordinances

How we read our sources

We take every rate from an official source: the law that sets it or the office that publishes it.

Each line shows the day we read the source. Where no read date is recorded, it shows the day the source was published or came into force, and says which.

This page is built from the same records our calculators use, so when a rate changes there, it changes here with its new read date.

Each document stays with its publisher and keeps its own terms. We cite the figure and link to the document, and we never copy its text.

Topics for a thesis

Students are welcome to build on our data, with attribution. These are topics where it can help.

  • How household work becomes declared work: registrations and permits
  • Women in paid household work
  • Cantonal and municipal minimum wages for household work
  • Indexation formulas and how well they forecast minimum wages
  • Source tax for workers with more than one household employer
  • Pension protection in part time household work
  • Paying for help at home: supplementary benefits and the IV assistance contribution
  • Cost as a barrier to paid care at home
  • Ageing at home, canton by canton
  • Rent measured in hours of home help
