Swiss employment administration support

If household employment applies, the household remains the legal employer. Under its signed power of attorney, Helpore supports the defined work for contracts, payroll records, insurance coordination, tax records and payment evidence.

Childcare at home in Champel, Eaux-Vives, Carouge, Cologny, Chêne-Bougeries or Collonge-Bellerive is named in Geneva's own contract for domestic work, not the federal one. Use the language filter and read each Helper's stated childcare experience and availability before choosing.

Geneva does not use the federal standard contract for domestic work. Its own contract, the CTT-EDom, names childcare in a private household in its scope, and Geneva's minimum wage of CHF 24.59 an hour applies to a nanny whose main task is childcare too. Helpers set their own rates at or above the legal floor. The rule follows the exact address where the work is done, so a cross-border Helper with a valid G permit is owed the Geneva rate in a Geneva home; a profile can show the recorded permit status. Profiles distinguish self-reported childcare experience from recorded first-aid or criminal-record evidence where present.

Local questions about Childcare in Geneva

Does Geneva's contract for domestic work cover a nanny?

Yes. The CTT-EDom names childcare in a private household in its scope, as it names cooks, gardeners and carers. It leaves out care outside the family, such as day care mothers and midday supervision, au pairs, who have their own contract, occasional babysitting by young people in training, and nursing staff who need a practice licence. Your household is the legal employer, and with Helpore Admin, if you choose it, Helpore carries out the registration, payroll and payment records under your signed power of attorney.

Can I deduct nanny costs from my taxes in Geneva?

Third-party childcare costs may be deductible up to the caps the law sets, when its conditions are met. With Helpore Admin, if you choose it, Helpore carries out the payroll and payment records under your signed power of attorney, so the wage paid to your Helper is documented.

Before the first visit

Helpore Flex is coming soon. This is how a first visit works once it opens.

What if I will not be at home?

Once Flex opens, the request asks how your Helper gets in: you are home, the name on the bell, a door code, a key with a neighbour, a key box or another way, with a short note. The access details you give in the request are shared with your Helper for the visit. Each Helper's profile also says whether they accept a key to the home.

What if I do not have the supplies?

Where it matters for a service, the Helper's profile says who brings the supplies: the Helper brings the required supplies or equipment, or the household provides them. Some profiles also list extras for a service. If the household provides them, have the products and equipment ready before the first visit.

What is the shortest visit?

Each Helper can set the shortest visit they take for each service; where they do, their profile shows it as the minimum beside that service. A request shorter than the Helper's minimum is refused.

What if the visit ends early?

Once Flex opens, each visit has an agreed length, and the price is set for that length. Finishing early does not automatically lower the price. If you ask your Helper to leave while they are available to work, the agreed wage generally remains due. If your Helper leaves early without your agreement, only the hours actually worked are owed (Art. 322 CO); you and your Helper settle them between you, as employer and employee. If you need help with the record of the visit, write to Helpore. The same applies to a single visit and to regular visits.
