What this tool prepares
Choose a full reference or simple confirmation, then choose whether the employment is ongoing or has ended. Enter only facts from one employment relationship.
Choose the document separately from its timing
A full reference covers the kind and duration of employment, work performance and conduct. A simple employment confirmation covers only the kind and duration of employment and is issued at the employee's express request. The employee may request either or both.
Interim or final
An interim document covers an employment that is still ongoing. A final document covers an employment that has ended. The timing does not decide whether the document is full or simple.
Use facts from the employment
Describe the duties actually performed and any material changes during the period covered. Do not infer skills, qualifications, praise or results from a service label.
Write the assessment yourself
For a full reference, use your own observations across the period covered. Write clearly, fairly and truthfully. Do not predict future performance.
One employment relationship per document
You can include several services carried out for the same household employer. Prepare a separate document for work under another employer.
Review and sign
Check every name, date, duty and assessment. The household employer then signs the document in the blank signature space.
When the facts need individual care
For disputed facts or a substantial absence that may affect the account of the employment, get advice on the individual case. Do not enter diagnoses or unrelated private information here.

Questions about the tool
Who writes and signs the document?
The household employer writes or approves the wording and signs the document. Helpore prepares the draft from the household's entries but does not issue, verify or sign it.
What is the difference between a full reference and a simple confirmation?
A full reference covers the kind and duration of employment and assesses work performance and conduct. A simple employment confirmation covers only the kind and duration of employment. It contains no assessment, recommendation or reason for termination.
What is the difference between interim and final?
Interim means the employment is ongoing. Final means it has ended. Timing is separate from document type, so either a full reference or simple confirmation can be interim or final.
Can the employee request both documents?
Yes. The employee may request a full reference, a simple employment confirmation or both. A simple confirmation is issued at the employee's express request.
Can one document include several household services?
Yes, when the services belong to the same employment relationship and household employer. Use separate documents for separate employers.
Does choosing a service add duties automatically?
No. A service opens examples and a drafting prompt. Add only duties that were actually performed, then edit the wording to match the facts.
What happens to what I enter?
Your entries stay in this browser tab while it remains available. Helpore does not save them to an account. Use Reset before leaving a shared device. Copying or printing creates a copy you control.
Does changing the document language translate my wording?
No. The standard document text and service names change language, but your own wording stays exactly as entered. Write it in the document language you choose.
Can I prepare a final document before the employment ends?
You can prepare a draft, but a future end date keeps it unusable as a completed final document. Review it after the period covered and do not predict future performance.
Can a future employer contact the household for a reference?
The future employer needs the applicant's consent before contacting a current or former employer. The employer giving the reference also needs that consent and should share only information relevant to the role.
