What must a household employment contract contain?

Swiss law accepts a contract agreed by word of mouth as well. For an employment of more than a month, the employer gives the Helper in writing the names of both sides, the start, the work, the wage and the weekly working time. Probation, notice, holidays and sick pay follow the law or the canton's standard contract when the contract says nothing, and the employer insures the Helper against accidents in any case. A thirteenth month salary is owed only when it is agreed.

Questions about the contract check

Is a contract agreed by word of mouth valid?
Yes. Swiss law accepts an employment contract agreed by word of mouth. So the check never calls a contract wrong because it is short or oral; it shows which points the law asks to have in writing.
Is my contract uploaded?
No. The check reads the text and the PDF in your browser. Nothing is sent to Helpore or anyone else, and nothing is stored.
Why is there no score?
A short contract can be fully lawful, because the law and the canton's standard contract fill in what it leaves open. The check groups the points into required by law, advisable and optional, and counts what it found in each group.
What does to check mean?
The check found the point but read a figure beside it that seems outside the law, for example a probation longer than the law allows. Read that passage of the contract again.
Can a Helper use the check?
Yes. Choose The Helper at the start and the check speaks to you; it reads the contract the same way.
What if a point is missing?
Where a required point is missing, the employer adds it in writing. Where an advisable point is missing, the law or the canton's standard contract applies. You can also fill in a new contract with the contract generator, which uses the rules of your canton.
