Swiss household employment
Also written: Probezeit · Temps d'essai · Periodo di prova
The probation period is the opening stretch of an employment during which either side can end it at short notice. By law it is the first month, and it can be extended by written agreement to a maximum of three months.
During probation either you or the person you employ can give seven days' notice, effective on any day. After it, the ordinary notice periods apply and terminations run to the end of a calendar month.
You are the employer. Helpore prepares the contract, files the declarations and produces the payslip in your name.
The legal maximum:
No. Three months is the legal ceiling, and an agreement beyond it is reduced to three.
No. It runs from the start of the employment, not from a change to it.
