Swiss household employment
Vollmacht: the power of attorney
Also written: Vollmacht · Procuration · Procura
Why does Helpore ask for a power of attorney?
The power of attorney is the document that lets Helpore act for the household in payroll matters: registering with the compensation office, filing declarations, arranging the compulsory insurance and settling contributions.
What it means if you employ someone at home
It is narrow on purpose. It covers payroll administration, social insurance, tax, insurance, payments and refunds for your household employment, and nothing else. You remain the employer throughout.
You are the employer. With Helpore Admin, Helpore prepares a contract if you want one and, under your signed power of attorney, files the declarations and produces the payslip in your name; with Admin Light, Helpore prepares the maths and the documents and you file and pay. Both are optional. You stay the employer in every case and can also do all of this yourself.
Common questions
Does signing it make Helpore the employer?
No. You stay the employer. The mandate only allows Helpore to file and pay on your behalf.
Can I withdraw it?
Yes. It ends when the administration ends, and the registrations stay in your name.
