Swiss household employment
Koordinationsabzug: the coordination deduction
Also written: Koordinationsabzug · Déduction de coordination · Deduzione di coordinamento
What is the coordination deduction?
In the second pillar, pension contributions are not calculated on the whole salary. A fixed amount is deducted first, on the basis that the AHV already covers that part. What remains is the coordinated salary, and contributions are calculated on it.
What it means if you employ someone at home
It matters for part time household work because it can reduce the insured salary to very little, or to the statutory minimum, even when the wage itself is above the entry threshold.
You are the employer. With Helpore Admin, Helpore prepares a contract if you want one and, under your signed power of attorney, files the declarations and produces the payslip in your name; with Admin Light, Helpore prepares the maths and the documents and you file and pay. Both are optional. You stay the employer in every case and can also do all of this yourself.

Common questions
Why is the insured salary so small?
Because the deduction comes off first. A wage just above the entry threshold leaves only a small coordinated salary.
Is there a floor?
Yes. Below a minimum coordinated salary the statutory minimum applies instead of the calculated figure.
