# Family allowances for a Helper's child by canton, 2026: method

1. The child, education and birth allowance of each canton are taken from table 1 of the federal table of the Federal Social Insurance Office for the study year, as the Helpore payroll engine holds them as dated, verified rows. Where a canton pays more from the third child or above an age, the page uses the first rate; the data file carries both.
2. The amount for two children doubles the first child rate.
3. Yearly differences multiply a monthly difference by the months of a year.
4. The hours illustration divides the income floor by the federal NAV hourly minimum for an unskilled Helper, a month and, through the weeks of a year, a week. It leaves out holiday pay and other supplements. The federal NAV minimum does not apply in Geneva, which has its own standard contract.
5. The comparison of allowance and wage at the floor sets the two children amount against the monthly income floor.
6. Limits: an allowance is paid once per child, to the person first in line. Below the floor, a person may claim as a person without gainful work if those conditions are met. Amounts and the income floor of later years are not in this study.

Every figure is rebuilt by the study's model from the engine rows; a row that is not verified for the study year stops the build. Sources and saved copy hashes: source-ledger.json.
